On Friday, April 16, the St. Lucie County Agricultural Extension Advisory Council will present its Annual St. Lucie County Ag Tour in conjunction with the USDA/ARS Horticultural Laboratory’s annual Open House event.  This year’s theme is ”From Seed to Scenery.”  We invite you to experience this exciting and educational event as we tour locations which highlight landscapes that are ”Florida Friendly.”

The 2010 Ag Tour will be conducted on Friday, April 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will begin at the USDA Horticulture Research Station, 2001 S. Rock Road, Fort Pierce.  Enjoy a healthy continental breakfast while you view presentations on Florida-Friendly landscaping. Our scheduled stops include Plant Haven Nursery, 25th Street landscaped median and a stop at the Cobra Café’s garden with the final stop being the USDA Open House.

There is no cost for either event.  Casual attire is recommended, as a large portion of the tour may take place outdoors. Space is limited to the first 80 who register by calling (772) 462-1660 or email  karen.a.murphy@ufl.edu by Wednesday, March 31.

The USDA will be conducting their open house from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. For more information on the USDA Horticultural Laboratory’s Open House event, contact the USDA directly at (772) 462-5800.
